Scripps in the Community

As a not-for-profit health care system, Scripps takes pride in its service to the community. In 2010, Scripps community benefit services contributions totaled $337,784,350. This includes $286,232,394 in uncompensated care, $34,845,254 in professional education and health research, $690,103 in community building activities and $16,016,598 in community health services.

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti 2010, Scripps helped provide desperately needed medical care. We did the same after Hurricane Katrina. And we work hard every day to ensure that we will be ready in the face of unexpected events here at home.

ongoing care for a unique population of homeless patients that need continued medical care.
